Permanent makeup, also referred to as semi-permanent makeup,  micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a form of tattoo much like traditional body tattoos but with one main difference. Instead of implanting the pigment as deeply as the dermis, one of the deepest layers of your skin, the pigment is actually implanted much closer to the surface in the outermost layer called the epidermis. This is achieved by using a tiny needle which moves at a rate of 150 times a second.
